Cradle Mountain Day Tour
Cradle Mountain Tour
Cradle Mountain + Dauphin Lake + Mural Town
When you are in Cradle Mountain, you will feel extremely peaceful. It is said that this is the origin of the name of the mountain. It is located in the Lake St. Clair National Park, which covers an area of about 2,000 square kilometers. It has ancient rainforests and alpine wastelands. The park is the most important part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. It is one of the most special places in Tasmania. Glacial lakes and icy streams edged by ancient pine trees are stacked in the middle of the Cradle Mountain range.
Dove Lake is also known as the Dove Lake because it looks like a dove when viewed from above. Located at the bottom of Cradle Mountain, it is a cirque lake at an altitude of 950 meters. On a calm day, the reflection of Cradle Mountain will appear on the lake surface, making it a sight to behold. On the way to Dove Lake, visitors can also see wild wombats.
The name of the mural town is Sheffield. It was originally an unknown farm town. It became famous in the 1980s because some painters were invited to paint murals all over the town streets. In recent years, many celebrities from China and Hong Kong have visited the town and left their works, including famous Hong Kong singers Eason Chan and Pakho Chau, and Chinese artists Li Chen and Zhang Xinyu. This has enabled a town with a population of less than 1,500 to attract 120,000 tourists a year.
