Launceston Day Tour
Launceston Tour

Flower season itinerary (December-January): Ross Town + Launceston + Lavender Garden (ticket $20) + Canyon Park

Non-flowering season itinerary (February-November): Ross Town + Launceston + Winery + Swiss Village + Canyon Park

We departed from Hobart that day and headed to the historic town of Ross to visit the second oldest stone arch bridge in Australia. We will then make a pilgrimage to Ross Village Bakery, the conception place of Hayao Miyazaki's animation "Kiki's Delivery Service", where the heroine Kiki works. The original work of "Kiki's Delivery Service" was written by Japanese female writer Kadono Eiko, who has won the International Andersen Award. After Hayao Miyazaki's animation skills, the audience is once again brought into a wonderful world.

Tamar Valley is the most famous and major wine producing region in Tasmania. The terrain of the region is complex and varied, and it is recognized as one of the most suitable places in Australia for producing cool and refreshing wines. Swiss Village is located in the Grindelwald district, which has the same name as a city in central Switzerland. There are many buildings imitating Switzerland and a seven-hectare lake. It is very pleasant to take a walk by the lake and drink a cup of coffee on the roadside. Cataract Gorge Reserve is very close to the city center and feels like an urban oasis, where we can see wild kangaroos and peacocks, stroll on the Alexander Cable Bridge built in 1904, and take the world's longest monorail open-air cable car at our own expense to enjoy the scenery of the South Esk River, the peacocks that roam around the pavilion on the hill and the gardens.

(Summer only) Bridestowe Lavender Farm is the largest lavender farm in the Southern Hemisphere, covering 260 acres, with approximately 650,000 lavender plants in an arc-shaped field that is 200 kilometers long. Visitors love strolling through our purple fields, enjoying the pure air and wide open space.
